Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave / Three Houses Covers Image: Nintendo Life

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is finally here! We’re sure that many of you will have been diving into Intelligent Systems’ beefy new entry in the RPG series already, but how many of you picked up a physical copy? And those who did, did you notice the Three Houses callback?

As brought to our attention by the wonderful Jon Cartwright (formerly of this parish), the new Switch 2 physical’s inner design is borrowing more than a little from its spiritual predecessor.

You see, Three Houses opted for some fancy interior formatting, placing the protagonists on the right side of the game sleeve, and filling out the left side with other party members galore. What do you know, Fortune’s Weave has done the exact same thing.

This time around, Eshmel occupies the right side, while the left is packed with headshots from some of the Dagsion citizens that you’ll meet, recruit, and battle throughout the story.

Another interesting tidbit is that Fire Emblem Engage (Fortune’s Weave’s actual predecessor) goes for a different format entirely, with the inner sleeve showcasing the game’s dragon art instead. A neat signifier that it sits outside the two titles that sandwich it, no?

Here’s Mr. Cartwright himself to showcase the similarities:

It’s a good job that the game itself is worth such neat cover art, eh? “If you’re after a dense, tactical, and very, very meaty RPG to lose days to,” we said in our review, “Fortune’s Weave will more than satisfy you.”
