On Sep 14 and 15, Maryland men’s golf placed and tied for seventh in the Bearcat Invitational.
Playing at the Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Terrapins finished with a collective score of 853 strokes, just one stroke over the par. Maryland tied in seventh alongside the University of Kentucky with 853 strokes.
Maryland played strong throughout each round. Junior Will Gregware led the Terps in the first round with a score of 69, with senior Emil Riegger capturing a steady 71 strokes in the opening round. Maryland finished the first round with 286 strokes.
Round two for the Terrapins finished with another 286 strokes overall,with sophomore Caden Piselli leading the men for the round at 69 strokes.
The final round finished strong for Maryland, with a captured 281 strokes. Every player recorded less than 75 strokes, with Riegger leading the squad at 69 strokes, followed by Gregware and freshman Robby Rosati at 70 strokes. Pisseli and freshman Charles David Beeson each logged 72 strokes.
For the overall individual placements, Gregware finished the tournament tied for 11th place, Riegger ended tied in 28th place, Piselli tied for 36th place, Rosati finished in a tie for 77th place, and Beeson completed the tournament tied in 83rd place.
Maryland’s next invitational takes place on September 21 in the Chicago Highland Invitational.
