LOS ANGELES — Rae Burrell lives the basketball life. It’s what she knows best.

Over these last 15 or so months, you’ll often find Burrell on a court, either in the WNBA, Unrivaled, or with Team USA.

You see, Burrell came back from a lower leg injury at the beginning of July 2025, and then she played in the Los Angeles Sparks’ final 27 games of that season, with the campaign finishing in September. A few months later, in January 2026, she was participating in Unrivaled. In March, she made her Team USA appearance. Then the new WNBA season started in April, and the cycle for Burrell began all over again.

That’s nearly 15 consecutive months of nonstop basketball for a player who has turned herself into one of the premier offensive wings in the league.

But that grind is what Burrell knows best, and it’s what prepared her for this fantastic season that she’s pieced together.

“I think just putting in the work after the season, immediately getting into the gym and working on the things that I need to work on, and then I think that just helped me going into Unrivaled,” Burrell tells Russo Writes about what has propelled her to have the individual season that she’s presently enjoying.
