SHAWNEE COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) – A woman was injured early Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash after she attempted to avoid a deer.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 6:25 a.m. on Sept. 21 on K-4 in Shawnee County.
The driver of a 2018 Toyota Highlander swerved to the right to avoid a deer and ran off the roadway. The vehicle struck two delineator posts.
The driver then overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle slid across the roadway and struck a barrier wall to I-70.
As a result, Melissa Saline, 50, of Tecumseh, Kan., was taken to a hospital with a suspected minor injury.
