Williamsport, Pa. — A Williamsport man was found guilty of sexually assaulting a child following a one-day trial in Lycoming County.
Joshua Carter Turner, 50, whose family owned Turner’s Market in Newberry, was convicted of sexually assaulting a child — using sexual devices, liquor bottles, a Wiffle ball bat, and his own body — after hours of deliberations by a jury of four men and eight women.

Turner began a relationship with the 12-year-old victim in 2012 and continued to see her into 2013.
Prosecutors called three witnesses, including the victim, Turner’s ex-wife, and Agent Brittany Alexander of the Williamsport Bureau of Police. Turner was the only witness to take the stand for the defense.
Judge William Carlucci ordered sentencing for Nov. 30 at 1:30 p.m.
Turner’s bail was revoked and Lycoming County Sheriff’s deputies took him away in handcuffs to the Lycoming County Prison.
Turner was convicted of statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault, contact with a child for sex, unlawful contact with a minor, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors.
This is a breaking story and will be updated with testimony from the victim, Williamsport detectives, and Turner himself.
