If there is one person who can get Kate Middleton onto a movie premiere red carpet, it is, apparently, Tom Cruise. On Tuesday night, the Princess of Wales and her husband, Prince William, attended the London premiere of Cruise’s new movie, Digger. It was the royal couple’s first movie premiere since they attended Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick four years ago in 2022. What I wouldn’t give to listen in on this trio’s dinner conversations.
Princess Kate looked especially princess-like in a deep purple Jenny Packham gown, which featured a sweeping train and slightly puffed, sheer sleeves. She accessorized with a rather stunning amethyst and pearl necklace which, yes, looks a lot like the Heart of the Ocean. In fact, it is the Queen Mother’s Amethyst Sautoir Necklace, reportedly given to the Queen Mother in 1923. The piece was also worn by Queen Camilla at another movie premiere — Skyfall in 2012.
While this is Kate and William’s first movie premiere in quite a while, they were last seen on a red carpet in February, when they attended the BAFTAs. I just hope Kate doesn’t have to wait for Cruise’s next film to come out to enjoy her next evening at the movies.
