August is such a funny month. It’s the slowest hockey calendar of the year, it’s like a hundred degrees outside, and the hockey season feels like it’s nowhere in sight.
But it’s also not really that far away. In less than four weeks, the Avs’ rookies will report for practice before the Rookie Tournament begins on Sept. 12. And from there, it’s full steam ahead to media day, training camp, and preseason.
