Save Our Sons and Daughters SC hosts Thursday event for mental health awareness

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A Lowcountry nonprofit is working to bring the community together to talk about mental health and suicide prevention with a meet and greet event Thursday night.

Tessa Spencer, the founder of “Save our Sons and Daughters SC” created the the nonprofit after losing her son to a battle with mental health.

Now she is working to bring awareness to mental health and suicide prevention so no parent or child has to struggle alone.

The meet and greet will be held Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Victor’s on John Street in Charleston. There, individuals will be able to learn more about the organizations mission and learn about ways to get involved.
