Amazfit on Wednesday launched the world’s first solar AMOLED sports watch. The Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar is what ZDNET contributor and wearables reviewer Matthew Miller calls a “unique watch with a niche target market.”
Miller has had the watch for a few days now and is fascinated with its solar capabilities thus far. While it’s surely a niche watch for a niche individual, it’s also selling for $650, much more expensive than other popular smartwatches, including Apple’s latest Watch Series 12, which recently launched for $399.

If you’re set on getting your hands on the T-Rex Dual Solar regardless, there are a few ways you could save a few dollars on it directly from Amazfit. Here’s how.
1. Refer a friend
Amazfit has a refer-a-friend program that lets you give 10% off and receive 10% off back. Those interested must sign up to receive a unique link to invite referrals via email, text, or social media. Whenever a referred individual makes a purchase using your link or code, you’ll receive an email with a 10% discount code.
Essentially, your friends get 10% off when they enter their email address through your link. You get 10% off every time your friends make a purchase. These discount codes can only be used directly at Amazfit’s website and cannot be combined or stacked with other coupon codes. Discount codes can also only be used once and cannot be applied to previous purchases. The discounts are also not redeemable for cash.
10% may not sound like a lot, but that’s $65 off the new T-Rex Dual Solar, and a discount you can’t get anywhere else.
2. Military, teacher and medical discounts
Amazfit has a special discount program to recognize select working professionals by granting a 20% off code. These discounts cannot be combined with any additional offers and do require verification through GovX.
Military (active duty, veterans, spouses, and dependents), teachers (K-12 and university teachers/staff), government employees, and first responders (police, fire, healthcare workers) are eligible for this program.
To take advantage of this offer, simply shop at Amazfit as normal and then select GovX at checkout. Sign in or sign up and verify your eligibility for an exclusive discount. Then, use the unique discount code shared with you at checkout to save.

3. HSA/FSA savings
While not a direct way to save with a code or sale, if you have funds set aside in HSA/FSA accounts, Amazfit offers the option to check out using them. Since HSAs/FSAs use pretax money, you get more purchasing power for your dollars. Rather than pay taxes on income and then spend it on health items, qualified customers can use pretax funds to invest in their health, including a range of tech gadgets in 2026.
These accounts offer tax incentives up-front and allow you to save that way. To use these funds at Amazfit, simply check out as a guest. Then, confirm your email with a code and enter your FSA/HSA account information. Next, you’ll need to select “Truemed – Pay with HSA/FSA” as your payment. This is also available under “Alternative Payment Methods.”
