Freddy vs. Jason slashed into theaters on this day in 2003, the Real Gone Music is celebrating with the first-ever vinyl pressing of the soundtrack.

Due out on October 10, it features songs from Slipknot, Type O Negative, Sepultura, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, and more.

The 2xLP album pressed on red smoke colored vinyl, limited to 1,500, housed in a gatefold jacket.

Real Gone writes, “When Freddy Krueger of Nightmare on Elm Street and Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th butted heads (or lost their heads, heh heh) in the 2003 film Freddy vs. Jason, the result wasn’t just the most financially successful film for either franchise; it was also the inspiration for possibly the greatest heavy metal soundtrack ever.

“Drawn from the astonishingly deep Roadrunner label roster, the line-up featured songs from Sepultura, Slipknot, Type O Negative, Sevendust, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Chimaira… the list goes on. Not only that, but 14 of the 23 were previously unreleased! Nu metal, death metal, metalcore, industrial…whatever alloy of metal you favor, it’s here.”

Robert Englund reprises his role as Freddy for the eighth and final time, squaring off against Ken Kirzinger as Jason. Monica Keena, Kelly Rowland, Jason Ritter, Chris Marquette, Lochlyn Munro, Katharine Isabelle, Brendan Fletcher, and Kyle Labine also star.
