Beijing Kids Media, in partnership with Animotion Media Group, has published “The Fixies: Developing Scientific Thinking,” a systematic STEM picture-book collection based on the animated educational franchise “The Fixies.”

Aligned with China’s primary school science curriculum, the 25-book printed series targets children aged 3 and above. The books blend narrative storytelling with home-based hands-on experiments designed to introduce foundational scientific concepts. Distributed exclusively through digital new media channels, with Douyin serving as the primary retail launchpad, the collection sold approximately 10,000 sets within its first week following its September 1 release. Two additional book sets are scheduled to roll out before the end of the year.

“Children today engage with stories in more dynamic ways than ever before,” said Julia Nikolaeva, General Manager at Animotion Media Group. “While traditional print books remain essential, young learners respond best to content that brings concepts to life. By combining classic picture-book storytelling with the beloved universe of The Fixies, we are meeting kids where they naturally engage and making foundational STEM learning interactive, accessible, and fun with The Fixies: Developing Scientific Thinking.”

The launch builds upon the ongoing collaboration between Animotion Media Group and Beijing Kids Media, which previously debuted “The Fixies Enhanced E-Books” featuring 75 interactive science stories on Tencent Video.

Gong Shaohua, General Manager of Beijing Kids Media, added: “Partnering with Animotion Media Group allows us to actively explore innovative publishing formats for The Fixies across China. Translating this world-class IP into specialized print collections and digital screen experiences expands how families interact with the brand, and the promising launch sales for The Fixies: Developing Scientific Thinking serve as yet another proof of our shared success.”
