Everyone’s favorite love at first sight-unseen dating show returns this fall for a season of wicked-high stakes and drama, and for the first time, the series is set in Boston. Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, Netflix’s “Love Is Blind” will debut on Oct. 14 with five episodes. 30 New Englanders will undergo four phases of unconventional courting to see if love really transcends physical attraction in Season 11 of the series.

The show follows romantic hopefuls from the same metropolitan area and is often described as a social experiment thanks to how the couples get to know each other: First, singles speed date in enclosed pods, unable to see or touch each other before getting engaged. Then, the newly minted couples spend a week together in-person at a tropical retreat, and mingle with other engaged pairs for the first time face-to-face. Next, couples test their real-world compatibility by living in their home city together in production-provided housing and meeting each others’ loved ones. Finally, they say “I do” — or “I don’t.”
