(Miami, Florida) – Kai Trump’s college golf career is starting with an early setback after the University of Miami freshman suffered a wrist injury during her first collegiate tournament.

Trump, the 19-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump, said in a YouTube vlog that she hurt her wrist during the Golfweek Fall Challenge after her club struck something hard underneath the ground near a cart path.

She said the impact sent a shock through her arm, and the injury became worse later in the round when she hit her driver on the tenth hole. Trump said medical testing showed she did not completely tear the wrist, but doctors found damage involving cartilage and ligaments.

The injury came during her debut tournament at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, where she finished tied for 102nd in the 120-player field.

Trump said she is receiving treatment as she works to get healthy and return to competition.
