“Lindblade: Cutting Edge” premieres Thursday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Sioux City. Admission is free at the door.
The documentary follows the life and career of Lindblade, who started his photography career in Sioux City at different television stations before leaving for Hollywood to continue his career.
Jim Kiertzner, the director of the documentary, gave some insight into the film.
“It’s about this man’s life and all the different layers that are associated with that. He picked up a camera eighty years ago right here in Sioux City.” Kiertzner said. “He’s worked here; he’s worked around the world. He worked out in Southern California with the rat pack in the sixties.”

Lindblade was present during the press conference and offered some advice.
“My claim to fame is I can identify people with talent, and I’ve tried to encourage these people to go forward.” Lindblade said. “I don’t care what the community might say, I don’t know what your teachers might’ve said, if you feel this is the world you want to pursue, do it. You can do it if you make your mind up to it.”
