Tacko Fall’s bid to earn a spot with the Philadelphia 76ers just hit a roadblock.

The 76ers revealed on Thursday that Fall suffered a left hip strain in training camp. He will be reevaluated in two weeks.

The injury comes at an especially unfortunate time for Fall, who is one of four players on an Exhibit 10 contract competing for a two-way spot on Philadelphia’s roster.

If Fall is waived by the 76ers, he is eligible for a $91,000 bonus if he signs with Philadelphia’s G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. He would have to be with the Blue Coats for 60 days to receive the bonus.

Fall has appeared in 55 G League games in his career. He’s averaged 13.8 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.8 blocks while shooting 73.1 percent from the field. He led the G League in blocks during the 2021-22 season.

Fall joined the Celtics after going undrafted in 2019. He appeared in just 26 games over two seasons in Boston, but he quickly became a fan favorite. He was no stranger to “We want Tacko” chants and applause when he entered the game.

After his two seasons in Boston, Fall joined the Cleveland Cavaliers. He then played in the Chinese Basketball Association and Australia’s National Basketball League before getting another NBA opportunity with the 76ers.

Listed at 7-foot-6, Fall is one of the tallest players in NBA history.

Fall will have to wait at least two weeks for another opportunity to make his case in Philadelphia.
