FARMINGTON, Utah (KUTV) — Lagoon Amusement Park announced a new rollercoaster set to open in July 2027, saying its the first hot racer coaster in the United States.
The Utah amusement park announced the upcoming “J3 Grand Prix” coaster at an unveiling event on Saturday. Park officials said the coaster is inspired by Formula 1, with individual race cars on a single-rail track.
“What makes this ride truly unique is its single file line of 10 individual race cars, one seat per row. Everyone gets to be in the driver’s seat,” officials said.

The rollercoaster will have three inversions and twelve airtime experiences, which is when riders feel weightless or like they are floating.
In addition to being the first single-rail coaster in the U.S., it also will be the amusement parks first multi-launch coaster.
