Texas A&M basketball fans might’ve just hit the jackpot here. In what should be another deep SEC for this upcoming college basketball season, Bucky McMillan just picked another insane win in the portal.
Texas A&M was able to snatch guard Ali Dibba from Southern Illinois. He averaged 17.6 points a game last season, and he looks to be another monster key addition to McMillan’s roster.
Jon Rothstein, one of college basketball’s most recognizable names, just put Texas A&M in elite company as an NCAA Tournament contender. This might come a shock with McMillan’s first season not even starting yet, but one of CBB’s biggest names just gave some elite praise to the Aggies.
Rothstein calls Texas A&M basketball a serious contender
Southern Illinois transfer Ali Dibba has committed to Texas A&M, per his agent Rashaad Ubah.
Averaged 17.2 PPG and 4.8 RPG last season.
Bucky McMillan is building an NCAA Tournament contender in Year One in College Station.

Dibba stands at 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds. He’s confident on the dribble drive and can also light it up from deep. Fans might be confused when they look at Dibba’s shooting form, but he’s got it down cold. Dibba shoots a pretty decent clip from deep at around 34 to 35 percent.
Dibba joins an elite guard group next to Pop Isaacs, and even though Isaacs has more of the big school D1 experience, Dibba is going to insert himself as a fan favorite in College Station right away. Dibba is a college basketball journeyman, and this is probably the greatest swan song that he could ask for if this is the final year of his college career.
Texas A&M basketball isn’t known for creating a lot of NBA talent, but Alex Caruso would probably have something to say about that. This could be the beginning of a new era of Bucky turning the page to put Texas A&M basketball on the map as a legit school who churns out NBA talent consistently.
Texas A&M fans hope Rothstein’s words can come true, but even if they don’t, it’s McMillan’s first year in the SEC. The SEC media will probably give him a pass for anything that happens this season. McMillan has quickly turned Texas A&M into a major attraction for portal players, but after this year, it’s up to him and his staff to put Texas A&M on the map for the amateurs in high school.
