LPGA’s LOTTE Championship moving to Kapalua Resort in 2027

  • October 6, 2026

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The LPGA Tour announced Oct. 5 a new home for the LOTTE Championship at Kapalua Resort in Maui starting in 2027.

The event will be held March 15-21, 2027, at Kapalua Resort’s Plantation Course and feature a $3 million purse.

It will join the new Nanea Cup tournament as a two-week swing in Hawaii.

Next year’s event also marks the 15th edition of the LOTTE Championship. The tournament’s first appearance was at Ko Olina Golf Club in 2012 before moving to Hoakalei Country Club in 2022.

“As we continue to strengthen the LPGA Tour schedule, venues with deep-rooted heritage like Kapalua are exactly what we look for,” said LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler. “We want to thank Hoakalei Country Club for the last five years and look forward to building on the success of the LOTTE Championship at its new home in Maui.”

Local golfer Allisen Corpuz said she’s excited for the move.

“Growing up in Hawaii, attending the LOTTE Championship was always a highlight for me, and I think Kapalua is an incredible venue to showcase the beauty of Hawaii and everything that makes the islands so special,” she said. “I’m really looking forward to competing there and being able to share that experience with fans at home.”

Supporting Maui recovery

The LPGA Tour said bringing a world-class golf tournament back to Maui reaffirms its commitment to supporting the island’s continued recovery and revitalization following the 2023 Lahaina wildfires.

The golf industry remains a significant economic driver for Hawaii, contributing an estimated $3.4 billion annually to the state’s economy through direct, indirect, and induced impacts, the tour said.

Kapalua Resort has previously hosted the PGA Tour with The Sentry, which was played from 1999 to 2025 at The Plantation Course, and the LPGA Tour with the Kapalua LPGA Classic, played in 2008 at The Bay Course.
