Former UConn men’s basketball star Jordan Hawkins is signing a two-way deal with the Chicago Bulls, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Hawkins spent the first three years of his NBA career with the New Orleans Pelicans after being chosen with the 14th overall pick in the 2023 draft. He never quite broke through in the Pelicans’ rotation, and saw his role dwindle from 23.6 minutes per game in 2024-25 to just 13.6 minutes per last season.
The 24-year-old averaged just 5.1 points on 36.6 percent shooting and 34.8 percent form 3-point range last year.
He was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies last month, but the Grizzlies waived him over the weekend, three weeks after acquiring him.
