A groundhog somehow found a way to get stuck under Newport’s Taylor Southgate Bridge. It’s believed that the furry friend had been stuck there since at least last Thursday.
On Monday, Terri Baker Fancote was able to spot it and captured pictures to raise awareness of the issue.
Currently, it’s believed that the groundhog fell from the bridge’s walkway. Newport Public Works crews were called to the scene to set up a trap. It took a couple tries, but the groundhog finally went in.
