Good morning! Good KFS Pod went up last night with Ian Begley for anyone who can’t get enough KAT / second apron talk. As for today’s newsletter, let’s keep it on the court…

It’s so good to have Knicks basketball back in our lives.

(and I’m not even a New York baseball fan)

I’ve already alluded to this in newsletters and podcasts, but my goal this year is to enjoy watching the Knicks play more than ever. Sad as it is to admit, the stress of the last few years overtook my ability to sit back and simply bask in the glow of a good basketball team. Every game was a referendum, where it felt like far more could go wrong – an uncapped downside scenario, if you will – than could go right. If they couldn’t win a title now, I’d surely die without ever seeing them go all the way. Totally normal and healthy stuff.

Well, now they’ve won it. That doesn’t mean the stress of watching games will go away completely, but I do think it’ll change how I take in games. I’ll give you an example:

In years past, I would have watched this KAT drive and focused solely on the fact that he fell to the floor at the end and how detrimental this bad habit would be when it came to facing the top teams. Now?

Hey, how cool is it to have a center that shoots like Steph and finishes like George Gervin!

Or something to that effect.

We’ll see how long my new mantra lasts (Fanatics has set the over/under at 1.5 quarters on Opening Night), but I’m going to try my best, starting right now. All kidding aside, I thought Towns looked awesome. Maybe it’s just my perception, but I thought he was moving a little quicker than normal now that he’s dropped a few pounds.

More importantly, he looked as comfortable as ever directing the offense.
