The Wake Forest Men’s Basketball Team has made a late addition to the 2025 recruiting class, adding Serbian PF Dimitrije Kovacevic.
Kovacevic is a 6-9 PF who played most recently for KK Real Beograd U19, where he led the team in both scoring and rebounding with 14.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. From the little I have seen, Kovacevic seems to move well for his size and has a very quick release on his shot. He finished last season shooting 60% from 2-point range and 32% from beyond the arc.
There really isn’t a ton of info out there on U19 Serbian semi-pro basketball, so it’s a little difficult to know exactly what the Deacs should expect from Kovacevic this season. I’m not sure there is going to be much space for him in the rotation this season with Schweiger, Biliew, Spillers, and Marion all with similar size and more experience, but we will see. Adding more size and depth is never a bad thing, so this is still a good pickup for Wake, especially if they can keep and develop him for a few seasons.
