Not surprisingly perhaps, Duke’s visit to Tennessee’s Thompson-Boling Arena (capacity 21,678) sold out in no time Friday. We’re sure some Duke fans got theirs, but it’s obviously going to be a Tennessee crowd.
Tennessee won’t have the wonderful Zakai Ziegler, their 5-9 spark plug, but Rick Barnes and the Vols bring a lot to the court. They’re likely to start Maryland transfer Ja’Kobi Gillespie in his spot, along with senior big man Felix Okpara and highly touted freshman Nate Ament.
You can expect Tennessee to play the same bruising defense we’ve seen from Barnes since his Clemson days. It’s not much fun, but it’s important to get some games in against teams like that, because under Jon Scheyer, Duke has struggled with overly physical teams.
If you’re still interested in getting a ticket, you might consider Stub Hub or another secondary market seller, but you’ll probably pay a premium. Right now, the cheapest pair we see is around $220.
