COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – WIS anchor Intisar Faulkner traded the newsroom for the dance floor this weekend, earning the “Best Dance” award at Dancing with the Stars of Columbia.
Faulkner and her partner, Jake Davies, performed a cha-cha and samba to a Shakira mix on the Lexington Two Performing Arts Center stage. They had just 90 days to prepare and practiced 15 times before the competition.
The annual event pairs local business owners, media personalities, and first responders to raise money for Type 1 diabetes research and support for people living with the disease. This year, participants raised more than $127,000.
The WIS team was there to cheer Faulkner on and support the cause.
