Record warmth the next few days

  • October 13, 2026

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Record warmth is ahead over the next few days, with summer-like temperatures expected. A late week cold front will bring a return to fall weather with the coolest air of the season so far expected.

For today we’ll start off with some patchy morning fog. That will give way to a mainly sunny and hot afternoon. Temperatures will warm to around 90. We’ll be mainly clear overnight with lows in the low 60s.

Wednesday and Thursday will bring more heat and dry weather. Highs on both days will again reach 90 which will set new records.

A strong cold front arrives on Friday. High temperatures around 80 will likely be reached around midday with temperatures leveling off or falling slightly through the afternoon. Winds may gust around 30 mph as the cooler air settles in. There’s only a slim chance for a few showers with the front.

The weekend looking pleasant and much cooler. Morning lows will be down in the low to mid 40s with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 60s. We’ll warm back into the 70s to around 80 again as we head into next week.
