A SpaceX launch was visible in North Carolina skies on Tuesday morning.
The Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Oct. 13 at 6:33 a.m. Eastern time.
Dozens of WRAL viewers sent photos of the launch to WRAL ReportIt.
This launch created a vapor trail that resembled a jellyfish.
WRAL meteorologist Chris Michaels explains, “The sun is low on the horizon in the eastern sky, illuminating the vapor trail as it zooms northeast.”
The resupply CRS-35 mission (Dragon’s 35th Commercial Resupply Services), is an approximate 52-hour flight. According to SpaceX, Dragon will autonomously dock with the orbiting laboratory on Thursday at 11 a.m.
You can watch the launch on SpaceX social media pages.
