This is a hallway on Carlmont’s campus. There was no adult supervision when the student injury occurred on campus, according to an email sent out by administration.
A Carlmont student experienced a serious accident on campus on Sunday at around 9:30 p.m. The student is recovering in the hospital from injuries, and the Carlmont Administration Team is currently investigating the situation, according to an email sent to the Carlmont community by the administration Monday afternoon.
According to the email, multiple students were present on campus late at night. They were not supposed to be there and no adults were present on campus during the incident.
The email also reminded students that campus buildings should not be accessed during times when Carlmont is closed. The administration also wrote about their thoughts of care and support for both the student and their family.
“Please know that the safety of our students is our top priority at all times,” wrote the Carlmont Administration Team in the email.
Staff members also received additional information through another email sent out by the Carlmont administration. They were told to keep this information confidential.
When reached out for comment, the Carlmont administration declined to give further information.
“Due to student confidentiality, I am unable to provide you with any information or participate in an interview,” said Grant Steunenberg, one of Carlmont’s vice principals.
