High school football ‘26: Trinity shocks Bolles in OT; Columbia clobbers Ed White

  • October 17, 2026

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Host Trinity Christian used a 1-yard touchdown run from Hicks Zarah on fourth down in overtime to cap a wild 20-17 win over Bolles. The Conquerors (4-4) had multiple opportunities to go in front in regulation but came up empty. Terel Dallas had a rushing touchdown to help Trinity claw back from a 14-0 hole. Zarah had a rushing touchdown before half to tie things up.

Bolles (5-2) had won five of the last six meetings between the rivals, including three straight.

Xander Edwards had a rushing touchdown and JC Wessel caught a touchdown from Luke Toland. Jaxon Flowers had a monster game for Bolles, blocking two field goals and forced a fumble into the end zone as Dallas was at the end of a 50-yard run that should have been a touchdown. Flowers recovered a fumble just outside of the end zone as Dallas was trying to score.

Bolles was in position to take the lead late on a Langston Florence field goal, but the Bulldogs were called for 30 yards in penalties on the kick. Instead of going in front on the kick, Bolles had to punt from the Trinity 39. But the punter went low to field the snap and his knee touched the ground to give Trinity the ball back in position to take the lead. But Bolles blocked the eventual game-winning field goal try to send the game into OT.

Za’Khari Greene had two interceptions for Trinity, including a huge end zone interception.

No. 2 Columbia crushed No. 4 Ed White 42-22 in a Super 10 showdown that was essentially decided in the opening half. The win gave head coach Brian Allen career win No. 112, the most in program history.

The Tigers (8-0) swamped the Commanders (6-2) from the outset and put a running clock beating on the home team. The win all but wraps up the District 3-4A title barring something catastrophic. Columbia can win the title outright with a win over Yulee next week. Should the Hornets upset Columbia, the district title would come down to a tiebreaker between the Tigers, Yulee and Ed White and be determined by MaxPreps rankings points, a category the Tigers are far and away the leaders in.

No. 3 St. Augustine had no trouble with Orange Park in a 52-8 romp that delivered head coach Brian Braddock his 100th win at the school.

In Starke, No. 7 Bradford held on for a 27-24 win over No. 8 University Christian in a thriller that went down to a final field goal attempt.

No. 10 Nease’s 41-27 win over Bartram Trail helped hand the district title to Mandarin. The Mustangs clobbered Beachside 47-6.

The Commanders played without injured QB King Boylston for the second consecutive game.

In independent football, Super 6 No. 1 West Nassau dropped its second consecutive game in a 24-19 loss to a red-hot Jackson. The Warriors dropped top 6-2-1 as they approach the Sunshine State Athletic Association playoffs.

No. 5 Stanton saw its opportunity for its best season since the 1950s end with a stunning 22-20 loss to KIPP Bold City. The Blue Devils (8-2) were seeking their first nine-win regular season since 1957, according to the Florida Times-Union. KIPP entered on a 17-game losing streak and just a 1-26 all-time record.
