LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
WLKY is honored to introduce you to the 2026 Bell Award recipients.
On Oct. 8, the honorees were celebrated at historic Churchill Downs.
Ten individuals received the prestigious Bell Award, a bell cast in the likeness of the ship’s bell on the Belle of Louisville that symbolizes answering the call to service.
Thanks to the generosity of the Republic Bank Foundation, each recipient was awarded a $500 grant to the charity of their choice.
In addition to the Bell Awards, two teenagers were honored for their service.
Each received a $2,500 scholarship.
Mayor Craig Greenberg presented the Mayor’s Spirit of Louisville Award, and Churchill Downs presented the John Asher Spirit Award.
