At the Sidecar Festival at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in early October, fans of three-wheeled racing were treated to the launch of Klaus Klaffenböck’s autobiography, *Sterben tun die Anderen*.

This was followed by a celebratory launch of the book in his home country at the Audi House of Progress on Kärntner Straße in Vienna. Together with co-author Kurt Molzer, the former sidecar world champion and three-time winner of the infamous Isle of Man Tourist Trophy offered an insight into his eventful career during a reading.

The large audience included a number of prominent figures: amongst the guests listening to the adventurous anecdotes were Austria’s star comedian Alex Kristan and Alexander Salvator Habsburg-Lothringen, a great-great-grandson of Emperor Franz Joseph.

Also in attendance were motor racing greats such as seven-time sidecar world champion Rolf Biland, with whom he had fought many a duel on the racetracks, the brilliant sidecar designer Louis Christen, the five-time Grand Prix winner Gustl Auinger, and ServusTV F1 commentator Andi Gröbl.

Anyone who does not already own this highly readable book – of which, incidentally, there is also an English version entitled ‘Dying is for Others’ – can order it directly from Klaffenböck’s website for €34.90.
