SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A Springfield Municipal Jail employee told KATU Sunday that officers booked a person identified as Evan Stewart into jail at approximately 7 a.m. Sunday, October 18, on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII).
According to the information provided, Stewart was released approximately one hour later, at 8 a.m., to a third party whose name matches that of another Oregon Ducks wide receiver.
KATU reached out to the University of Oregon football program seeking confirmation and a statement regarding the reported booking but had not received a response at the time of publication.
The reported booking comes after social media posts circulated claiming that multiple Oregon Ducks football players had been arrested.
