PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — New renderings and a site plan released Monday offer a closer look at the proposed Sphere entertainment venue at National Harbor, Maryland.
The rendering shows the illuminated sphere near MGM National Harbor, with Interstate 495 in the foreground and the Potomac River in the distance.

The site plan shows event spaces and plazas around the venue, along with parking areas, a service building and a potential shuttle bus location. It also labels a possible pedestrian connection between the Sphere’s plaza and MGM National Harbor, as well as a pedestrian bridge near Oxon Hill Road.

The proposed venue would be a smaller version of the Sphere in Las Vegas, with seating for about 6,000 people. Earlier plans put its height at about 302 feet.
The project is still subject to review and approval.
