President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post on Sunday that the golf courses at D.C.’s East Potomac Golf Links were “terrible and very unsafe,” but that’s not how the golfers see it. Most said the course is in excellent condition and that National Links Trust is doing a great job with maintenance.
One man who did not want to be identified told WTOP the park is looking better than it has in 40 years.
Trump also wants to demolish the existing golf courses and build one new, PGA Championship-level course. Some golfers there said they fear that this will raise costs and ruin the egalitarian atmosphere they cherish.
