**EDITOR’S NOTE** – An earlier version of this story said that prosecutors have declined to file charges in this case. This was erroneously reported. While court records indicate “no complaint” filed in the DUII charge, Springfield Municipal Court tells KATU News prosecutors have up to a year after to file charges in the case.
EUGENE, Ore. (KATU) — Prosecutors haven’t filed a Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants charge against Oregon Ducks star wide receiver Evan Stewart following his arrest in Springfield last weekend.
Court records indicate that Stewart will be charged with Driving with a Suspended License, which is a Class A traffic violation. Municipal court records updated Thursday, however, show that no complaint was filed against Stewart in the case. Prosecutors still have up to a year to file more charges in the case.
Stewart was arrested and booked into the Springfield jail early Sunday morning for allegedly driving under the influence. Police said an officer suspected Stewart was impaired and initiated a DUI investigation.
Head Coach Dan Lanning said the program would take the appropriate action.

Stewart leads the Ducks in receiving this season, but questions remain about where this goes from here on the legal side and the consequences he could face from the program.
Stewart had already missed last week’s game against Nebraska because of an injury.
The Ducks will take on Illinois Saturday. As of Friday morning, Stewart has already been listed as out, according to the Big 10 availability report.
