Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, when locations across the country collect old or unused medication.
This will be the 31st national Take Back Day, which happens every April and October.
Officials said it has helped get more than 20 million pounds of unused medications out of people’s homes.
“Oftentimes, you’ll try a medication, it might not be for you, so it goes in a filing cabinet or goes in a medicine cabinet, and now is the time to be able to anonymously and freely dispose of it at your local police department or wherever your community is holding its drug Take Back Day,” said Chris Stawasz, Northeast regional director for AMR.
There are dozens of drop-off locations across New Hampshire. You can find a location near you on the Drug Enforcement Administration website.
