CLEVELAND — Basketball is back in the city of Cleveland. The Cavs organization is excited to welcome fans back to Rocket Arena after over 150 days since their last playoff game.
In preparation for the home opener, the Cavs invited fans to their Center Court location in Beachwood to meet Cavs legends Austin Carr and Campy Russell. Russell Minter says this was a dream come true to meet Mr. Cavalier himself.
“Austin Carr…I mean, he’s Mr. Cavalier! He’s the legend of all legends. It was great for me to meet both of them. I loved every bit of it. They signed a jersey and a ball for me. That was great. I checked something off my bucket list,” said Minter.
The Cavaliers had their season opener against the 76ers on Thursday, falling short, but now the doors to Rocket Arena are open, and they hope to start their home season off right with their fans.
Aly Ambrookian, Cavaliers VP of Marketing, said, “This is going to be an exciting time to continue that energy, momentum and that championship-caliber basketball. You know, coming off that Eastern Conference Finals, we’re really excited to bring that energy back into Rocket Arena and really keep chasing that same energy.”
With the new season comes new gear and merchandise. This year, the Cavaliers received new gear from Nike, and welcomed a new collaboration with Fear of God Essentials.

Amy Armstrong, Retail Marketing Director, said, “We’re so excited. We’ve been wanting this for years. We finally have the first Cavs Fear of God Essentials Collection. We have a hoodie and a t-shirt. It’s a player’s favorite. We already spotted a handful of the guys wearing it yesterday on their way to their trip.”
In addition to new gear, Rocket Arena is teaming up with chefs and new eateries in Cleveland to provide fans with everything they need in one place.

New bites from local culinary chefs will be available throughout the concourse, offering fans a taste of Cleveland.
Adam Zann, Senior General Manager of Aramark, said, “We’ve got the best fans in the NBA, and we want to give them the best experience they can get in all of sports. We’ve got a really strong lineup of a lot of local culinary talent that we’ve partnered with. Every year, we want to turn it up a little bit more! Here we are on the cusp of a new season, and we got a lot of new great items for our fans.”
The organization wants to ensure fans a wonderful experience not having to worry about planning a complete night out. Everything they want and more is in one place while they support their team to another victory.
