COOPERSBURG, Pa. – In Lehigh County, ground has officially been broken for Jefferson Health’s fifth neighborhood hospital.

A ceremony on Tuesday kicked off construction of the Lehigh Valley Hospital Coopersburg campus near Route 309 and Passer Road.

Hospital officials say it will create a needed health care hub in the southeastern part of the county. It’s expected to open late next year.

The campus will also include a health center offering services like primary care, rehabilitation and rheumatology.
