Milwaukee is holding a parade to celebrate the Brewers winning their first World Series title in franchise history.

The parade will be on Friday, and some school districts are closing to avoid issues with transportation and give students the chance to witness history.

School Districts that have canceled Milwaukee Public Schools: All school sites are closed and staff do not report. No classes or before- or after-school activities will take place. There will be no Milwaukee Recreation activities or programs with the exception of high school postseason athletic events. Involved staff and families will receive direct communication. The Wauwatosa School District will be closed Friday, Oct. 30. All classes are canceled for the day. All before- and after-school programs and activities, including athletics and Recreation Department programs, will continue as scheduled. All Cudahy schools and district buildings will be closed Friday. The West Allis School District has Fall Break, so classes were already canceled. Whitefish Bay and Germantown school districts also had days off previously scheduled.
