LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln housing project is getting national attention.
Shive-Hattery, a full-service architectural and engineering design firm, announced on Monday that the Sonderup Container Housing located near 28th and Vine streets is set to be featured on America by Design, a television series focusing innovative architecture.
Shive-Hattery said the America by Design team recently visited Lincoln to film on location, speaking with staff.
The container housing was initially built in 2019. Inspired by a similar project in Oklahoma, the two-level industrial-style duplexes are a mixture of typical housing elements and shipping containers.
10/11 NOW has reached out to America by Design to see when the episode will be aired.
According to the owner of the building, they hope to build two new container homes on the south of the property, and the firm is working to get it started as quickly as possible.
