The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-6 after losing to the Washington Commanders in Landover, Maryland on Sunday night. Final score: 27 to 10.

Well, the Eagles got out to a 1o to 0 lead in this one. That was nice. But then they played like the bad and dumb team that they are as the Commanders took control of the game to score 27 unanswered points.

The Eagles have now lost SIX games in a row. It’s their longest losing streak since 2012, which was Andy Reid’s final season in Philly.

The Eagles are now 5-11 in their last 16 games.

This team stinks. They’re a real tough watch.

Are they even going to win another game this season?

Next up for the Eagles: a Week 9 home game against the NFC East-leading New York Giants, who enjoyed a bye in Week 8.

Brandon Lee GowtonBleeding Green NationThe Eagles won the coin toss and elected to defer, per usual. The Commanders had a 44-yard kick return to set up at midfield. Facing 3rd-and-inches after two runs, the Commanders easily ran up the gut into wide open space for a first down. So easy. Facing 3rd-and-6, Jonathan Greenard jumped early to give Washington a free play, which was a Jayden Daniels pick to Andrew Mukuba. Facing 3rd-and-1, the Commanders false started. Facing 3rd-and-6, the Commanders false started again. Facing 3rd-and-11, Cooper DeJean had good coverage on Stefon Diggs and the pass was wide anyway. The Commanders settled for a 55-yard field goal attempt … that went wide right! The Eagles took over at their 45-yard line and began with a Saquon Barkley run for two yards. Facing 3rd-and-3 after a Tanner McKee scramble for four yards, McKee scrambled and lofted up a ball to Darius Cooper, who couldn’t make an impressive leaping grab as the ball was a bit too high. Facing 4th-and-3, Nick Sirianni should’ve gone for it but he did the stupid shit where the offense pretends to snap the ball only to take a delay of game penalty. Does the defense ever fall for that against this team?! 3 plays, 1 yard, punt. The Commanders took over at their own 12-yard line. Facing 3rd-and-3, Treylon Burks dropped a sure first down to bring up a punt. The Eagles took over at their own 38-yard line. McKee hit Makai Lemon for 20 yards on a nice play-action connection. Then McKee hit Darius Cooper over the middle for another first down. Facing 3rd-and-6 from just outside the red zone, McKee’s throw for Cooper was off target with the quarterback not looking on the same page with his receiver. The Eagles brought in Jake Elliott for a 40-yard field goal make. EAGLES 3, COMMANDERS 0.The Commanders took over at their own 20-yard line after Elliott’s kickoff bounced into the landing zone before going into the end zone. Nice kick. The Commanders got knocked back to 1st-and-20 after two five-yard penalties. Chig Okonkwo caught a pass over the middle but Mukuba put his helmet on the ball to knock the ball out! Mukuba’s first career forced fumble. The Eagles took over at the plus 26-yard line. A McKee play-action pass to Barkley went for 24 yards! Two plays later, Barkley in the wildcat formation (with fullback Willie Lampkin and sixth offensive lineman Fred Johnson on the field as extra blockers) picked up a touchdown! Takeaways? Touchdowns? Who is this team? EAGLES 10, COMMANDERS 0.The Commanders took over at their own 35-yard line. Facing 3rd-and-6, Daniels hit a crossing Burks for a first down. Facing 3rd-and-4 after Jalen Carter tipped a Daniels pass, Washington went with a bubble screen to pick up another first down. Facing 3rd-and-4 after Moro Ojomo picked up a TFL, Daniels’ pass was wide and off target. The Commanders brought in Drew Stevens for a 56-yard field goal make. EAGLES 10, COMMANDERS 3.The Eagles took over at their own 29-yard line. An Elijah Mitchell run for five yards brought up the end of the first quarter.Another Mitchell carry resulted in a first down. Facing 3rd-and-2, Mitchell took a carry up the middle for another first down. The offensive line looks … good?! Or not. Landon Dickerson left Shy Tuttle unblocked to sack McKee. Facing 3rd-and-12, pressure forced McKee into a short completion to bring up a punt. The Commanders took over at their own 11-yard line. Daniels hit Burks with Riq Woolen trailing for 21 yards. Facing 3rd-and-4 a little shy of midfield, Daniels hit Antonio Williams for a first down. Then Daniels took off running upfield into a wide open lane for an easy first down. Austin Ekeler broke a run 18 yards to the left edge (no contain by Arnold Ebiketie) to get to the 8-yard line. Then Daniels hit Diggs for a touchdown. 11-play, 89-yard TD drive to tie the game. Not a great showing from the defensive line. EAGLES 10, COMMANDERS 10.The Eagles took over at their own 27-yard line. Barkley re-entered the game and gained four yards. The Commanders got flagged for a very dumb unnecessary roughness penalty by hitting McKee late to give the Eagles a first down. But then the Eagles got knocked back by a TFL and a delay of game penalty. Facing 3rd-and-12, McKee overthrew Mitchell on a dump off to bring up a punt. 5 plays, 17 yards. The Commanders took over at their own 10-yard line with 2:31 on the clock and three timeouts to work with. Jalen Carter jumped offside as the clock was going down to the two-minute warning. No discipline. Facing 3rd-and-2, Rachaad White gained just one yard after it was originally ruled he got the first down. The Commanders punted from 4th-and-inches.The Eagles took over at their own 27-yard line with 1:32 on the clock and three timeouts to work with. Facing 3rd-and-2 after Mitchell inexplicably ran out of bounds before the marker, McKee’s downfield throw to Lemon was incomplete with the receiver failing to make a tough catch against tight coverage. Low percentage throw there. Why is that the call? The Commanders took over at midfield after a 27-yard punt return with 0:50 on the clock and three timeouts to work with. Washington quickly moved into field goal range. Facing 3rd-and-1 after Nolan Smith had Jayden Daniels hurting with a QB hit, Daniels was pressured into another off target throw. The Commanders settled for a 39-yard field goal make to take the lead. EAGLES 10, COMMANDERS 13.The Eagles took over at their own 31-yard line with 0:12 on the clock and three timeouts to work with. They inexplicably gave Saquon Barkley a carry and exposed him to an extra hit for no real reason to end the second quarter. Why not just take a knee? Or why not use Mitchell or Jaydon Blue if you want to run? What are you doing?!The Eagles took over at the 20-yard line to begin the second half. Eli Stowers (!) awkwardly made his first career catch to give the Eagles a second first down on the drive. Facing 3rd-and-3, a handoff to Mitchell was stopped in the backfield for a loss. Facing 4th-and-6, Sirianni opted for a punt. No attempt to draw them offside that time. The Commanders took over at their own 4-yard line after Braden Mann’s punt took a favorable Philly bounce. Facing 3rd-and-6, Okonkwo made a sick one-handed grab for 21 yards that would’ve been a first down anyway if it wasn’t caught because Woolen got flagged for defensive holding. Facing 3rd-and-4, the Commanders false started. Facing 3rd-and-9, Jalen Carter got to Daniels for a sack on a stunt. Hey, a big stop! Made possible by the pass rush! Who could’ve thought it was allowed to happen! The Eagles took over at their own 38-yard line and McKee immediately got sacked on play-action. Great. Facing 3rd-and-7, McKee hit Dallas Goedert over the middle for a 16-yard gain. Facing 3rd-and-4, McKee was strip-sacked with Markel Bell getting beat and the Commanders recovered. The Commanders took over at their own 40-yard line. Quinyon Mitchell bit on a double move to allow a 53-yard deep shot from Daniels to Burks. Oof. Q was also flagged for illegal contact on the play (declined). Facing 3rd-and-goal from the 7-yard line after Okonkwo almost made another amazing one-handed grab but couldn’t get two feet in, Epps broke up Daniels’ pass to force a field goal. Good job by the defense to not break after bending. EAGLES 10, COMMANDERS 16.The Eagles took over at their own 20-yard line. Facing 3rd-and-6, McKee’s third down pass bounced off of Goedert’s hand and into the arms of a Commanders defender … but the pick was wiped out by a generous roughing the passer call on Washington. Phew. Barkley ran for no gain to end the third quarter.Facing 3rd-and-4, McKee ran for a first down despite stumbling and nearly tripping on his own. Electric. Facing 3rd-and-8 after Cooper got held but there was no flag, McKee hit Hollywood Brown for a first down. Totally forgot Brown was playing, to be honest. Facing 3rd-and-inches after getting stuffed on second down, Goedert took the QB sneak for a first down (looked like Landon Dickerson got away with a false start). Facing 3rd-and-4, McKee was pressured into dumping the ball off to Mitchell for a yard. Facing 4th-and-3, Sirianni kept the offense on the field but Bell false started to knock the offense back. Sirianni brought Elliott in instead for the 36-yard make. But then Jordan Mailata got flagged for illegal formation to make it a 41-yard try, which Elliott MISSED off the top of the left upright. Wow. 15 plays, 57 yards, 7:35 drive that resulted in … zero points. Brutal. The Commanders took over at their own 33-yard line. Daniels instantly hit Williams for a 30-yard gain. Easy. Then they moved into field goal range. Facing 3rd-and-6, Daniels tried to take off running but Smith made a shoe-string tackle for a sack. The Commanders settled for a 42-yard field goal attempt to go up two possessions. EAGLES 10, COMMANDERS 19.The Eagles took over at their own 43-yard line with 3:37 on the clock. Facing 3rd-and-14 after McKee completed a pass for a loss and then threw the ball away against pressure, McKee got sacked. Facing 4th-and-25, the Commanders called a timeout to talk over their approach. Facing 4ht-and-25 for real, McKee threw it up and old friend Rasul Douglas picked it off.The Commanders went 37 yards in three plays to seal the deal with a touchdown. They also scored on a two-point conversion to make it a three-possession game. EAGLES 10, COMMANDERS 27.The Eagles picked up some garbage time yardage before the clock ran out. (Lol 46 yards for Eli Stowers.)Marcus Epps, not Michael Carter II, briefly came in to replace an injured Andrew Mukuba. Epps then came in to replace an injured Kenny Moore.Cooper DeJean was lined up at punt returner with Britain Covey out.Jaydon Blue and Darius Cooper lined up as the Eagles’ kick returners.Moro Ojomo seemed to get banged up on the first drive of the game. He returned to the game.Andrew Mukuba got hurt while going to the ground after catching an interception that didn’t count because it was a free play for the Commanders with the Eagles jumping offside. He returned to the game on the next drive.Saquon Barkley looked to be in discomfort and the broadcast noted that he was not sitting down, while also showing him constantly being stretched by trainers while on the sideline. He was in and out of the game.Nolan Smith visited the medical tent between the first and second quarters.Kenny Moore got banged up in the second quarter.Michael Carter II (abdomen) was ruled questionable to return in third quarter.
