Elon Musk’s Starlink service was restored for US users on Monday after a brief disruption, data from Downdetector.com showed. Reports of issues dropped to about 2,800 by 2:13 pm ET, down from a peak of more than 43,000 earlier, according to the outage-tracking website, which compiles user status reports from multiple sources.

Several users across the US took to the internet to report that Elon Musk’s Starlink service was down, with many saying they were experiencing connectivity issues.

Notably, Elon Musk’s Starlink has been eyeing the Indian market for quite some time and it looks like the wait might finally be nearing its end. While the official launch date is still under wraps, an exclusive conversation between Digit and Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia has shed light on the company’s licensing status and what’s left before commercial operations can kick off.

According to Scindia, Starlink has a few final hurdles to clear before going live. These include approvals for SATCOM gateways, setting up points of presence, acquiring the required spectrum and securing licences for networking equipment. Once these are in place, Starlink can begin offering services.
