WACO, TX – The Johns Hopkins football team picked up another top-five ranking ahead of the 2025 season as the Blue Jays check in at number three in the AFCA’s Preseason Poll it was announced today. The number three ranking from the AFCA matches the preseason rankings the Blue Jays had previously received from D3football.com and Lindy’s.
Johns Hopkins earned 1,097 points to easily grab the number three spot in the AFCA’s initial poll of the 2025 season. The Blue Jays match their highest ranking ever from the AFCA as they also ended the 2024 season ranked third after making a run to the NCAA Semifinals.
Defending national champion North Central was a unanimous selection at the top of the poll as the Cardinals grabbed all 51 first-place votes and totaled 1,275 points, while Mount Union earned 1,218 points to rank second. After Johns Hopkins at number three, St. John’s (MN) (1,058 points) and Susquehanna (1,016) round out the top five.
