Pattern by Tracee Ellis Ross’s beloved hair care staples—from their hydrating leave-in conditioner and edge control to the viral hair steamer—has quickly become a go-to for Bazaar editors. Today, the brand is announcing their expansion into a new product category: Body care. Available to shop starting August 21, Pattern Body consists of five products that aim to elevate your daily beauty routine, with a focus on hydration and exfoliation.

Along with the aloe vera- and olive oil-enriched Moisturizing Body Wash, and lightweight Nourishing Body Oil, the line also includes a Hydrating Body Lotion, plumping and firming Moisture Rich Body Cream, and smoothing Dry Exfoliating Body Scrub, meant for use on dry skin ahead of showering or bathing. Each of the new items is also infused with the brand’s signature Midnite Amber scent, which features a blend of amber, musk, and bergamot, along with subtle notes of citrus and floral.

“Each of these products is anchored in my personal routine,” Ross says of the launch. “When using these formulas, I want people to feel hydrated, radiant, and glowy. But mostly I want people to feel like themselves. I want you to be able to use these products and remember who you are. Pattern Body invites you to honor your skin with every swipe of scrub, wash, oil, lotion, and cream that you put on yourself.” The new body care collection ranges between $32 and $36, making it simple to elevate your regimen without breaking the bank.

When first launching in 2019, Ross intentionally named her larger brand Pattern Beauty as opposed to Pattern Hair, as her ultimate goal was to provide efficacious solutions for customers beyond just the needs of their scalps. “Caring for my body is a daily practice of self-care and honoring, and I’m thrilled to share these essentials that support juicy and joyful skin,” Ross adds. “There is an inner radiance and the self-love that is embodied in caring for ourselves. And for me, that extends beyond just hair. People talk about the skin-ification of hair—I’m talking about the hair-ification of skin. This collection is about embracing the skin you’re in—nourishing it, hydrating it, and celebrating it.”
Pattern recently broke the internet in June with a long-awaited “Girlfriends” reunion 25 years after the show’s debut, by way of a nationally televised beauty campaign. With lots of buzz building around the brand’s latest category launch, we expect it’s just a matter of time before Pattern Body becomes a household name like its hair care and styling tool predecessors.
The Pattern Body Collection is available starting August 21 on patternbeauty.com, and at Ulta Beauty and Sephora on August 29 and September 5, respectively.
