Police have charged a man in connection with a shooting in Downtown Pittsburgh that injured two people earlier this month. In a post from Pittsburgh Public Safety, officials said Jaraye McLaughlin, 28, of Monroeville, was taken into custody in connection with the shooting that took place on Aug.1. Police were called to the area of Penn Avenue and Garrison Place just after 4 p.m. on August 1 following reports of shots being fired. When officials arrived on the scene, a woman was found with a gunshot wound to the lower leg. Officials said a man was then found with gunshot wounds to his arm and leg. Both were taken to local hospitals and were said to be in stable condition. Following the incident, police released photos asking for the public’s help in identifying the “person of interest” believed to be connected to the shooting.A criminal complaint obtained Tuesday said McLaughlin was identified through video surveillance and the use of a bus pass. Officials said McLaughlin was taken into custody on Tuesday and is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, prohibited possession of a firearm, and recklessly endangering another personHe is now being held in the Allegheny County Jail. Police have charged a man in connection with a shooting in Downtown Pittsburgh that injured two people earlier this month.

In a post from Pittsburgh Public Safety, officials said Jaraye McLaughlin, 28, of Monroeville, was taken into custody in connection with the shooting that took place on Aug.1.

Police were called to the area of Penn Avenue and Garrison Place just after 4 p.m. on August 1 following reports of shots being fired.

When officials arrived on the scene, a woman was found with a gunshot wound to the lower leg. Officials said a man was then found with gunshot wounds to his arm and leg.

Both were taken to local hospitals and were said to be in stable condition.

Following the incident, police released photos asking for the public’s help in identifying the “person of interest” believed to be connected to the shooting.
