{"id":10026,"date":"2025-07-14T21:24:05","date_gmt":"2025-07-14T21:24:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/10026\/"},"modified":"2025-07-14T21:24:05","modified_gmt":"2025-07-14T21:24:05","slug":"derek-army-joins-colorado-eagles-ahl-coaching-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/10026\/","title":{"rendered":"Derek Army Joins Colorado Eagles AHL Coaching Staff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s been a long summer of coaching hires at both the NHL and AHL level for the Avalanche organization.<\/p>\n<p>The latest hire, Derek Army, is joining the AHL Eagles as an assistant coach on newly named head coach Mark Letestu\u2019s staff.<\/p>\n<p>Army is the son of Tim Army \u2014 a longtime assistant coach on the Avalanche\u2019s staff from 2011-2017. The 34-year-old was the head coach of the ECHL\u2019s Wheeling Nailers before landing this new gig.<\/p>\n<p>Army joins Letestu, and Avalanche assistant coach Dave Hakstol as the new additions to the coaching staffs at both levels.
