The event is open to all UW students, faculty, staff and research professionals interested
\n in exploring the information technologies and tools, computational resources, and
\n collaborative opportunities available across campus.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Organized by UW\u2019s School of Computing, the Division of Information Technology and
\n the Advanced Research Computing Center (ARCC), the Computing Resource Fair is designed
\n to connect researchers and educators with the infrastructure and expertise that support
\n innovation at UW. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about high-performance
\n computing systems; big data research capabilities; artificial intelligence tools;
\n geospatial technologies; interdisciplinary innovation centers; and more.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The School of Computing serves as a hub for computing at UW, advancing interdisciplinary
\n research and fostering innovation at the intersection of digital technology and real-world
\n challenges. Through partnerships with faculty, students and industry collaborators,
\n the School of Computing helps drive discovery and impact across a broad range of fields
\n — from environmental science and agriculture to humanities, health and the arts.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Division of Information Technology provides a wide range of services for students,
\n faculty and staff, including help desk support, computer labs, device checkout, training
\n and access to specialized software and systems. Standard offerings also include Microsoft
\n Office 365; email; Zoom and Teams video conferencing; Qualtrics; and support for enterprise
\n and specialty applications.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
ARCC is the primary research computing facility for the university, serving campus
\n through the Research and Economic Development Division. ARCC deploys and maintains
\n in-house scientific computing resources that include high-performance computing clusters,
\n high-speed research storage and the hosting of specialized research related services.
\n The center strives to support and enhance UW\u2019s research mission and serve as a gateway
\n to other research entities.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThis event is a great opportunity for anyone involved in research, teaching or campus
\n innovation to connect with UW\u2019s computing community,\u201d says Beth McMillan, academic
\n coordinator at the School of Computing. \u201cWhether you\u2019re curious about integrating
\n artificial intelligence into your research, need access to data visualization tools
\n or are looking for collaboration spaces, this fair will help you discover what\u2019s available
\n and who to talk to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Light refreshments and door prizes will be available, along with a grand prize drawing.
