Britney Spears<\/a> did not adopt a child, contrary to what the pop superstar recently said on Instagram.<\/p>\n In a post<\/a> shared to her Instagram on Saturday (July 12), Spears claimed that she had \u201cadopted a beautiful baby girl.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/p>\n \u201cHer name is Lennon London Spears,\u201d the singer added at the time, captioning a video of herself dancing in a pink leotard and wide-brimmed hat. \u201cLennon today has on adorable dress !!! It says I\u2019m NEW HERE !!!\u201d<\/p>\n Billboard, however, has since confirmed that Spears did not actually welcome a new child through adoption. She may have just been trolling fans all along, having peppered her caption with winky-face emojis.<\/p>\n The musician is already a mother to two boys, sharing 20-year-old Sean and 18-year-old Jayden with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Her post comes a couple weeks after she shared a mirror selfie<\/a> with Jayden, who looked all grown up while towering over his famous mother.<\/p>\n Though Spears and her kids had for years been largely separated from each other following Federline\u2019s move with the boys to Hawaii, she and her youngest have been spending more time together ever since reuniting last Christmas<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cHe is 6\u20193 and his hands are so big now !!!\u201d Spears wrote of Jayden on Instagram in June. \u201cHow long am I going to be in shock ??? It\u2019s so incredibly crazy, it\u2019s not even funny !!! I\u2019m blessed !!! Just please be careful with my heart too !!!\u201d<\/p>\n And while Spears\u2019 claim that she\u2019d become an adoptive mother was surprising, it\u2019s not the first time she\u2019s said something on social media that turned out to be untrue. Last December, she told followers that she was moving to Mexico to escape \u201ccruel\u201d paparazzi and even said that she was in the process of \u201chouse hunting\u201d there; however, The Hollywood Reporter later confirmed<\/a> that she wasn\u2019t actually leaving her home in the United States.<\/p>\n Months later, it looks like Spears might again be trolling fans about moving.
