\n\tThe cause of death for Loni Anderson<\/a> is now known. The twice Emmy-nominated star of\u00a0WKRP in Cincinnati<\/a> passed away from metastatic uterine leiomyosarcoma, an aggressive and rare cancer that often starts in the uterus and can spread to other parts of the body, according to a death certificate obtained by TMZ<\/a>. There were no other contributing factors listed.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnderson died Aug. 3 in Los Angeles, just days before her 80th birthday.<\/p>\n

\n\tHer longtime publicist, Cheryl J. Kagan, told Deadline at the time that Anderson died as the result of \u201can acute prolonged illness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnderson was best known for her portrayal of Jennifer Marlowe, the clever receptionist on sitcom WKRP In Cincinnati, about the eccentric staff of a struggling Top 40 rock radio station in Ohio, which aired from 1978-to 1982 on CBS. She received two Emmy nominations and three Golden Globe noms for the role. <\/p>\n

\n\tAnderson also portrayed Jayne Mansfield in a 1980 TV film opposite a then-unknown Arnold Schwarzenegger. She went on to appear in 1991\u2019s\u00a0telefilm\u00a0White Hot: The Mysterious Murder of Thelma Todd. Her other TV credits include\u00a0S.W.A.T.,\u00a0The Incredible Hulk, The Love Boat, Police Woman,\u00a0Barnaby Jones,\u00a0The Bob Newhart Show\u00a0and\u00a0Three\u2019s Company, and in later years,\u00a0The New WKRP in Cincinnati,\u00a0Empty Nest,\u00a0Sabrina the Teenage Witch\u00a0and\u00a0Clueless.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnderson also is known for her 12-year relationship and six-year marriage to Burt Reynolds. The two met on 1983\u2019s Stroker Ace\u00a0and began dating shortly afterward,\u00a0tying the knot in 1988<\/a>.\u00a0They divorced five years later.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 1995, she penned the\u00a0New York Times\u00a0bestselling autobiography,\u00a0My Life in High Heels, which she said was about \u201cthe growth of a woman, a woman who survives. It\u2019s about my childhood, the death of my parents, my career, my divorces, and my children. Then of course, the trauma of my marriage to Burt,\u201d per the\u00a0Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tHer last credit was Lifetime\u2019s\u00a0Ladies of the 80\u2019s: A Divas Christmas\u00a0(2023) with Linda Gray, Donna Mills, Morgan Fairchild and Nicollette Sheridan.<\/p>\n
