With one of the most beautiful college campuses<\/a> in the U.S. and a wealth of buildings worth visiting<\/a>, there are gems throughout the state. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n But a pair of recent lists point to public buildings that could leave something to be desired, ranking them among the ugliest in the nation.<\/p>\n The New Jersey Real Estate Network<\/a> surveyed 3,000 people to pick the 100 ugliest public buildings in the U.S. and Grand Junction City Hall checked in at No. 77.<\/p>\n Alot Travel<\/a>, a travel website, honed in on a different building, the Denver Art Museum, saying it was the 10th most unsightly building in the U.S.<\/p>\n Let\u2019s see what they say.<\/p>\n Is Grand Junction City Hall the ugliest building Colorado?<\/p>\n The beige brick and stucco building was the only Colorado entry on the list from New Jersey Real Estate Network.<\/p>\n The Society of Architectural Historians<\/a> notes that the oldest section of the hall, on the south end, includes the first floor of the original Lowell Grade School, while a WPA-built beige brick building that once served as a library is the north end of the hall. A connecting section was built in 1975.<\/p>\n The society calls the hall an \u201ceffective integration of disparate buildings.\u201d<\/p>\n Is the Denver Art Museum the ugliest building in Colorado?<\/p>\n Alot Travel\u2019s list had a much larger pool of buildings to consider than the New Jersey Real Estate Network\u2019s survey participants. It ended up with three museums in its top 10 unsightly buildings.<\/p>\n \u201cThis design doesn\u2019t scream ‘art museum’ as much as it screams \u2018supervillain\u2019s lair,\u2019\u201d the site wrote. \u201cThe odd angles and sharp points are probably the furthest away from beautiful art that you can get.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n What are the ugliest public buildings in the U.S.?<\/p>\n Ugly buildings aren\u2019t confined\u00a0 to just one part of the country, according to the New Jersey Real Estate Network survey.
