The pair got off to the perfect start, defeating Holger Rune<\/a> and Amanda Anisimova in straight sets, 4-2, 5-4, booking their place in the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n Unable to go any further, Shelton and Townsend lost to their fellow Americans, Danielle Collins<\/a> and Christian Harrison, 1-4, 4-5, later on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, Shelton<\/a> has now revealed whether he intends to play mixed doubles again.<\/p>\n Ben Shelton would \u2018100%\u2019 play mixed doubles again<\/p>\n During his pre-tournament press conference, Shelton suggested he would return to play mixed doubles in the future.<\/p>\n \u201cI enjoyed it. I love playing doubles,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI said that my doubles career was over at Slams because of how difficult it is with the schedule and playing three-out-of-five sets, but if any of the other Slams did something like this, where it was kind of in the pre-week, I\u2019d think about playing again, 100%.\u201d<\/p>\n Shelton believes the event went \u2018great\u2019, as he named the player who impressed him the most.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, I think it went great.
